LABEL DIVISION COMPETITION RULES
1. For entries in the Label Division Competition, we now require that the label must be judged on the bottle.
2. Wine labels will be judged in two categories:
- Individual label.
- Overall label series: a label series consists of at least two different labels and not more than five different labels. The series may come from consecutive years or all from the same year.
3. Wine label judging:
- The labels will be judged by nationally recognized graphics design and public relations experts.
- The judges have determined the following criteria for judging the labels:
overall originality and creativity
use of typography
use of graphics
4. Awards
Awards for the Wine Label Competition will be mailed after the judging and will consist of Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze award in both the individual and label series. The Competition reserves the right to photograph and reproduce any label accepted in the Competition in catalogues, posters, publications, and publicity printed by the Competition. Each submitting winery assents to this condition.
5. Logistics
- Forms and Fees: Use the Label Entry Form (see the Downloads page), and make your check payable to "San Francisco Competition." The entry fee is $20 per label entry (individual or series). By May 28, 2010, send a completed copy of the Label Entry Form along with your check or credit card information to:

6. If you are also entering the wine judging, you may ship your Label Division bottle(s) with your wine entry. Please note: This is a separate competition and requires a separate bottle.
